A short video showing you one of the many ways you can bbq using our cast iron grates. Steaks and Wings in a Weber Kettle.
I had guests over, so I made a bit of everything and fully utilized the 22.5" cast iron grill grate. The coals are under the griddle and the potatoes right next to them on the bottom grate. Onions and brats on the griddle, bunch of wings closer to the fire, cream-cheese, bacon, onion stuffed green peppers and corn (soaked for an hour, husk half removed) The egg-plants are for the egg-plant salad. Enjoy!

Head on over to the BBQ brethren, Plowboy, aka the guy that won the Royals showed of a pic of his egg using our grate.

One of my best steaks so far, one grate over the fire, one away to let the steak rest, potatoes below.

Rick shot some beautiful pictures of the 18.5” grate in a big green egg.

Thanks Rick
Striploin on our 18.5” cast iron grate in the kamado. A large step up from my last post. Can you tell I got a new camera?

We got 10 potatoes under the grate, 6 sausages, 10 pound of pork, one wrapped and one marinated, a chicken and a baguette.

We are hungry, so we put the sausage and bread on early.

Later we threw some steak on for a thai steak salad.
I put some ribeye on. More pictures soon.

Coals on both sides, potatoes under the grate and a (dirty) griddle. I usually use very lumpy charcoal, it still looks like the tree it came from, they light up fast, and get hot fast, but I got to lift up a quarter once in a while to add or otherwise mess around with the coals.

We played with different marinades but found that if we put on too much it turned a bit “dark”

Today we had Flank steak, a tough cut, but we managed it quite well.
The crust was incredible!
